Visit of Indian Parliamentary delegation led by Honourable Minister, Shri P.K.Bansal, Finland and Estonia 27-29 June

The Goodwill Delegation arrived in the morning on 27th June 2011 and went to Lahti. In Lahti, The Lahti Science and Business Park organized a presentation by Mrs Nina Harjula, Development Manager, Finnish Cleantech Cluster, 2. Mr Esa Ekholm, Business Director of Cleantech Lahti, Lahti Science and Business Park, 3.Mr Risto Lehtimäki, Vice President, Marketing and Communication, Metso Corporation, 4. Mr Eero Pekkola, CEO, Oilon. The Mayor Jyrki Myllyvirta, City of Lahti hosted a lunch for the Goodwill Delegation. In the afternoon, Honourable Minister Shri Bansal met Minister of Economy Jyri Häkämies, Ministry of Employment and the Economy in Finland in his office.

The delegation travelled to Tallinn, Estonia by Ferry on 28th and returned on the same day. As part of their programme in Tallinn, the delegation had a lunch hosted by Indian Cultural Association of Estonia in which the Members of Indian Estonia Friendship Group of Estonian Parliament participated including the President of the Group Ms. Marinna Mikko, MP, SDP, Mr. Riisalu Aivar, Member and Vice Chairman of the Defence Committee and Mrs. Helmen Kutt, Member and also member of Social Affairs Committee). The delegation visited the Estonian Parliament and met Mr. Juri Ratas, Vice President of the Estonian Parliament.

On 29th June, the delegation visited the parliament of Finland and the delegation was briefed by Mr. Jarmo Vuorinen, Deputy Secretary General of the Eduskunta and later on they met Mr. Eero Heinäluoma, the Speaker of the Parliament. The Deputy Chairman of the Committee for the Future hosted a lunch for the delegation. The delegation led by Shri Bansal included the following members:
